Demon Possession Gone Wrong (Gone Sexual?)

Summary

Jason hates his boss. Enough to try and summon a demon to kill him. However, a mistake in the summoning lands him on the hook for far more than he planned to pay.

Chapter 1

Magic is never an easy solution to a problem. If anything, magic takes a problem, tosses it in a can of worms and shakes it around for a bit until you have a different, even stranger, problem. Jason knew that was the case, but he hated his goddamn boss so much he didn’t give a shit. The Patagonia fleece vest wearing bastard had finally crossed the fucking line from “bearable for a paycheck” to “kill list”, and now he was going to learn why you didn’t hire a warlock for your fucking start up without including a no supernatural retribution clause in their contract.

Jason figured a summoning would be easiest. Curses sometimes back fired, he’d personally warded the office against destructive spells, sending a tormenting demon after him made the most sense. They tended to be expensive, but demons did good work and even the lowest ranked generally had a better command of magic than a freelance warlock like him. Luckily most of them didn’t trade in cash. Jason still had loans from magic school to pay after all.

He didn’t really have a concrete goal in mind for what class of demon. He figured anything would do at this point. That was of course his first mistake. Magic is a practice of intent, it’s far easier for a spell to get squirrely on you if you aren’t giving it enough guidance. The only thing guiding this summoning was anger and the most generic “help me tear this guy a new asshole” sigils Jason could remember. But, once again, he didn’t give a shit, as long as the deed was done. He kneeled, taking his ritual dagger in hand, a nice obsidian blade he’d gotten as a graduation gift, and slit his palm. His blood fell from his fingers onto the hasty summoning circle he’d drawn. For a moment he thought the spell had failed, until he looked down and noticed that his knee was slightly inside the circle. Wuh oh.

Jason’s vision suddenly went dark as hands covered his eyes. “You ought to be careful, young warlock. My kind can be unforgiving when it comes to such mistakes.” They had a deep, resonant voice.

“A-are you the unforgiving type?” Shit! He really didn’t want to die. Hopefully he’d at least get until he’d taken revenge.

“That depends. You summoned me through rage at a slight inflicted. I might be more willing to overlook your mistake, in light of severity.” The demon whispered into his ear. Jason swallowed.

“My boss wanted me to perform an enlargement spell on something I wasn’t comfortable with.”

“And that was?”

“Hi-his dick.”

“You’re not serious are you?” The demon snorted trying to keep in their laughter.

“Dead serious. He’s a raging fucking asshole, he’s rude to his subordinates, he pays everybody like shit, and he makes us work mandatory overtime but that shit was the final fucking straw. He hired me to do magi-sec, not to be a fucking sex witch.”

“Have you tried taking your concerns to HR? That sounds like it could be grounds for a sexual harassment claim.”

“According to them, since I’m an independent contractor they don’t have to do shit.”

“Then to my understanding, your mistake was made under reasonable mental strain. I can give you a break this time. Though I will insist upon a higher rate than my usual to serve as a reminder not to make it again.” The demon twisted their hands downwards so their palms rested on Jason’s cheeks.

“I broke the circle. I don’t have a choice do I.”

“No you don’t.” That was the deal. If you didn’t properly bind the demon you were summoning, they got to decide the terms of the agreement. No haggling.

“What do I owe you then.”

“I will take your body in three aspects. You may choose which three, but two will be temporary and one will be permanent. One aspect will be given to me in advance, two once the job is done.”

“Do I have metaphorical leeway?”

“Within reason.” Okay okay, he could work with that.

“You can take my body temporarily for use as a tool of your craft.” The hands left his eyes but the warlock found he still couldn’t move. The demon pressed themself against his back, and Jason watched as their shadow-wreathed hands slid down his arms. Their hands came to rest over his hands, their arms laid over his arms.

“I accept this payment.” They intertwined their fingers with his, and then through his, their hands passing into his own as if they were both made of water. The demon shifted, slipping softly through his back as well. Then the demon opened and closed Jason’s hands, feeling for themselves how the muscles, bones, and tendons fit together and moved each other. They hummed in interest through his lips. “It’s been a while since I’ve been embodied.” They touched his face with his hand. Jason could feel every motion the demon made as if it was his own, but at the same time he knew it wasn’t him that moved his fingers, playing with his bottom lip. He couldn’t move his mouth to speak. Good thing his telepathy skills were still passable.

“Any ideas for what you’re going to do to him?”

“Not yet.” The demon stretched, cracking Jason’s back. “Though if your employer was the one who supplied the awful chair you’ve clearly been sitting in, I may have some ideas. You ought to get something with better lumbar support, or at least a cushion.” The demon winced as they twisted Jason’s upper half, attempting to relieve some of his lower back pain.

“I never asked your name.”

“I am called He Who is the Truth That Hides Between Words, Lord of miscommunication and weighted contracts, although you may call me Selat.” He yawned. “Most of my work is corporate these days, so I’ve become somewhat of an expert. CEOs of startups tend to be sloppy, I can guarantee you I’ll find the thread that will unravel his entire business.”

“Well that’s cool and all, but I was really just hoping for someone to tear his dick off.”

“Oh, don’t worry. Both death and financial ruin are included in my rates.” The demon smiled. “You really have no idea who you’ve contracted, do you, young warlock?”
